News Analysis: The “Enigmatic Arctic Weather Puzzle Within a Global Maze” is often times “Solved” by Journalists who cannot discern between a ‘Weather Event’ and ‘Seriatim Weather’ (occurring over long periods of time).

The Voluminous Contributors to Weather Change are Not Limited to Cosmic Radiation, Earth’s Eruptions, Earth’s Rotation Causing Seasons, Solar Radiation, and Technological Emissions of Man. The Percentage proportions each of the aforementioned regarding Climate Change are not precisely known; their inter-relationship is not either. For example, how Under-Sea Volcanic Activity affects the Matrix overall (if at all) is not understood.

The Ebb and Flow of Temperatures on Earth which led to the past Ice Ages can be determined; the exact Causes, by Percentage of Contribution, cannot at this time.

The “Polar Vortexes” pronounced in the Media and other such utterances by News Casters totally ignore the previous stated Uncertainties of Science.  Their “Snapshot” Views ignore the Judicious Process of ‘Observation of Weather Trends over Time’. They never assume other Natural Processes around the Globe may be contributors the  Weather Event they have focused on.

Many Scientists think that the Journalists’ “Rush To Weather Judgment” does a disservice. Politicians who release Funds for Research may feel compelled by Press Reports to fund projects at best only obliquely germane to a particular weather problem; Politicians typically do not know any better (most lack the Extensive Science Education of Germany’s Chancellor Merkel).

On a “No Effect, Some Effect, Total Effect Gradient” Elements which might contribute to Weather Events should be reviewed OVER TIME. This will allow Climatologists  to get Verifiable Results which can lead to Proper Refutable Scientific Conclusions; not just Holograms of Personal Preference.

News Analysis: High Yields for Investors in German Wind Farm Projects (GWFP)  has been dismal. Inaccurate Wind Projections, Poor Location Choices, Lack of Quality in Equipment used, Poor Equipment Coordination, and Inept Management have produced losses for many ‘GWFP’.

Since a mere 10% miscalculation of Estimated Wind Energy at a site can create a 30% reduction of anticipated Electricity Produced and Energy Sold.

Some people think the German Politicians in the “Rush to Be Green” did not put on their “Thinking Caps”. It behooved them to  extensively analyze the entire data available on Wind Farms  and the Government’s Methodology to promote the same. Apparently, this did not occur. Glaring irregularities on both Cost and Performance which are now well known were not discussed widely.

The “Ostrich Principle” used by many Environmentalists helped push Politicians to achieve their ‘Rush to Be Green’: Ignore the Costs, The Facts, The Probabilities, The Profits, and Rely on the Imagery (Just like a Hologram).

Hydro-Electric Power and Nuclear Energy are both Clean, Efficient and Reliable but have Cost and Other Issues of Geographic Scale that Governments need to examine.

☆ A $391 Billion Dollar F-35 Aircraft Program To Serve Three Masters May Be Expected To Serve None Well

News Analysis:  The 35% Composite F-35 Aircraft is based on the Pentagon’s wishful thinking that Three Different Versions (with Varied Operational Parameters) can be combined into one Basic Aircraft Design. This $391 Billion Dollar Program, the most expensive Aircraft Program ever, displays the Military-Industrial Complex’s Mutual Onanistic Efforts.

The F-35 Cost Savings which were to be realized by this “Three-Into-One” Design Approach from the outset was questionable, at best. The Cost Overages are abundant now while the purported ‘Light-Weight Construction’ has each of these Versions allegedly at or above design limits.

Cracking of Structural Componentry, which is presently occurring in this Aircraft,  may be expected of stressed Carbon Composites may people think. Until the U.S. Air Force reveals if this was Composites or Metals Failure (or both) it will not bode well for an Alleged Super-Maneuverable Aircraft which this was Promoted to Be.

The Public Cannot see how a $391 Billion Dollar Aircraft have so many various ‘permanent’ and temporary problems; as the F-35 Pilots complain that the Aircraft Design does not allow them to see Enemy Aircraft Approaching from the Rear of their F-35’s (due to poor obstructed Fuselage Design).

As for the Air Frames’ Vaunted Cad/Cam Design Capabilities perhaps “Garbage In; Garbage Out” (GIGO) applies to their Multifarious Incorrect Engineering Assumptions. These errors have now been evidenced by these many problems such as “Structural Cracks” and “Shorter Aircraft Life Spans”.

In African Tea Farming, Some Countries Have It Dry While Their Neighbors Have It Wet

News Analysis:  Mother Nature may appear to be “Fickle” as to where Rain will occur to benefit Tea Farmers and where She will withhold her Moisture. Presently, Kenya and Uganda are having dry weather while neighbors Malawi and Tanzania are enjoying wet weather.

The lessening of crop yields also affects the quality of the Tea. Presently, $1.90 per kilogram is the Auction Price whereas before it was $2.40 per kilogram.

The Good News for Kenyan and Ugandan Tea Farmers is: “Nothing is Constant but Change”. ‘If it is Dry Today, Tomorrow it may be Wet’ is the Farmer’s Mantra.

The Current trend in the Pacific Ocean today Appears to Be the “El Nino” Phenomena of warmer waters moving towards South America from Asia. If this continues, it will affect Global Weather. If so, perhaps the Tea Farmers of East Africa will all enjoy Mother Nature’s Moisture.

They Tell Them What They Want Them To Hear (Not What They Need To Know)

News Analysis: The Myopic Marketing Machinations regarding the use of Composite Materials for Aircraft Construction as touted by Airframes and their Mass Media Minions discuss weight reduction compared to Metal Aircraft. While there will be some weight savings between the materials, as well as some design allowances which are more difficult to achieve with Metals, there are some Key Drawbacks which are typically not discussed.

There are Three Main Problems with Composite Civil or Commercial Aircraft: De-lamination, Detonation, and Flammability.

De-lamination: Stress applied to Composite materials can, over time, make the Carbon/Carbon Textile Fabric  de-laminate from other conjoining Fabric. De-lamination makes the sturdiness of the Composites ‘disappear’ to the point of being as strong as a piece of soft fabric. As used in the structure of a fuselage or Wing Box, this could be Catastrophic in flight. It no longer has the strength of the fabricated “Vacuum Bagged and Autoclaved ” original structure.

Secondly, Long Term Exposure to Cosmic and Solar Radiation of a Composite Aircraft in High Altitude Flight will eventually weaken the adhesive thereby allowing Fabric De-lamination to occur.

Thirdly, allegedly, the U.S. B-2 Stealth Composite Bomber has had issues over its ‘brief’ life. The U.S. Air Force is presently seeking funding for a replacement of this Vaunted Aircraft. It is too expensive to maintain and has a shorter life expectancy than Metal Aircraft (is what has been reported in the media). The Leading Edges of the Wings need to be constantly examined for Surface Deterioration from  flying in the skies with particulates in the air.

The American led  Gulf War with Silica Sand particles in the air damaged the B-2’s in their flights from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, U.S.A., to Iraq and back. U.S. Air Force Line Maintenance Personnel were quite chagrined by this reality it has been widely reported. What can Airlines expect of this Composite Behavior in flight  that would be different from the U.S. Air Force experiences? The Commercial Airlines will not fly in the Middle East? Hardly.

Detonation: Composite Aircraft cannot land on Airport Runways if they have Landing Gear Failure for example, without detonating the Composites into many Shards (as in an Explosion). Like an Egg Shell that destructs when smashed against something, so too will the underside of a Composite Aircraft have those portions of itself thrown all over a runway. A Metal Aircraft “dents”; a Composite Aircraft “explodes”, in effect.

Flammability: Carbon/Carbon Fabric and Petrochemical Adhesives used to ‘Glue an aircraft together’ are Flammable. The recent Small Battery Episodes causing fire to the Composite Airliners, for which they were grounded for months is a good example of this FACTUAL INHERENT MATERIALS’ LIABILITY. A Small Battery caused extensive aft fuselage damage to an Ethiopian Airlines Aircraft at Heathrow Airport in England. It reportedly took TWO MONTHS for the Airframe to ‘Secretly Repair” the damage. In fact, allegedly NO data as to the Repair Process has been disseminated to the Public nor to other Airlines. Why is that? What does the Airframe NOT WANT potential Customers to know? people ask.

If an Engine Detonation were to occur in flight and hot pieces of the engine (much hotter than a little battery) were to strike the Wing or Fuselage, a fire would be possible. A defective Microwave Oven used in the Galley could overheat, creating a possible fire in the fuselage.

What if the Auxiliary Power Unit were to catch fire and one was flying in such a Composite Aircraft over the Pacific Ocean, far from any airport, at night with a storm occurring below?

Flying into a storm may be hazardous in such a scenario and the greater atmospheric pressure of lower altitude might expand the fire due to more oxygen being present; a possible scenario

METALS IN AIRCRAFT ARE NOT FUEL SOURCES FOR FIRE, Carbon/Carbon Fabrics and the Petrochemical Adhesives ARE; This is not Clever Marketing But Real-World Science.

The Specious Argument of “Weight Savings for Fuel Savings” has a nice sound to it, but ignores the Composite Aircraft Realities of De-lamination, Detonation, And Flammability.

One must ask: “Is Aircraft Safety More Important to Society than Some Fuel Savings to An Airline?”  The answer from Men of Good Conscience is “Safety Wins”; For those who choose Fuel Savings, let them enjoy their potential “Fires in the Sky”.

To those who only write about Composite Aircraft Weight Savings, one must ask: “What about Composites’ Liabilities?”

News Analysis: The U.S. Center For Disease Control states  that 80% of Norovirus Voyage Cases occur on Cruises from November through April. This temporary Debilitating Disorder evidences itself by causing Cramps, Diarrhea. Muscle Aches, Nausea, and possible Vertigo in Passengers. It is spread by Infected Crew and/or Passengers on everything they touch. Some Physicians are of the opinion that Coughing and the breaths of the ill may also spread the virus.

There is a very interesting aspect of being in Close Proximity to Others on Voyages, and contracting this disorder, during the SAME November through April Time Frame. People Flying in Aircraft FOR HOURS and SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO OTHERS, typically DO NOT have reports of Mass Illnesses like Cruise Ship Voyages;  which have now become Common Events!

“Semi-Belligerent” Passengers on Aircraft (as stated in Newspaper Reports)  are ready to report their Slightest of Grievances readily to Airlines and Governments about their flights; so one would expect Illness Reports during November through April to be prodigious if these were the cases (which it is not). Instead, “Happy Cruise Passengers” become less so with the onset of Cramps and Diarrhea they experience while at sea.

If one thinks about it, National Bus Riders and Railway Passengers should also be afflicted with Norovirus; it appears they are not.

Perhaps something else is at work causing this Obvious Factual Disparity.  It may be that the various Cruise Lines  are doing a dismal job of  their Crews’ Health Screenings to save  money in a very competitive Industry, as some people think.

Travel Planners need to put their “Thinking Caps On” as to the Healthiest Way to take a Vacation. Obviously Cruise Ships, from November through April, are not it.

Australia’s Military Buys American “Pigs In A Poke” For Up To $16.4 Billion Dollars; What A Bargain?

News Analysis: Australia’s Military is spending Up To $16.4 Billion Dollars for Two Aircraft Systems: Fighter and Anti-Submarine. The United States Pentagon Head of these Programs admits to Serious Flaws in both Systems. The flaws have been known, but Unsolved for Several Years.

The Fighter Aircraft has numerous Software Problems. Beyond that it is allegedly  less reliable, more difficult to maintain, and is subject to propellant fires from missile hits.

The Anti-Submarine Aircraft, merely a ‘converted’ Commercial 737, is reportedly ineffective for surveillance of the oceans, and detecting and destroying enemy submarines. This reportedly  is due to flaws in the aircraft’s radar ability, sensor integration, and data transfer.

The fact that these problems have not been solved this late in the Development Cycle is Ominous. To say that the problems are “Manageable” is Laughable. Is that “Manageable” but ‘Unsolvable”?

It is presumed by many, Australia will continue on with this Questionable Set of Purchases. Rather than demanding that IT GET WHAT IT INITIALLY BARGAINED FOR, it will acquire much less quality so as to NOT OFFEND its ‘American Military-Industrial Partners’. Apparently, to Possibly Risk the Lives of Australian Military Members, by having accepted “Less Than The Best” will be acceptable, however.
