Northern Territory, Australia May Become a Thoroughfare to Asia

News Analysis:  Entrepreneurs throughout the world should consider the close proximity of Northern Territory [NT] to over 2,000,000,000 people to its north. If one considers the possibility of mining various minerals in NT as well as developing manufacturing to serve the aforementioned neighboring masses [China, India,  Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam,  etc.], opportunities abound. The  “Hard Work Ethic” of Australians makes the area even better for investment. An Entrepreneur should realize above all: “THE WORLD BELONGS TO THE AGGRESSIVE.”

Airline Order Smaller Aircraft Passenger Seats for More Revenue

News Analysis:  The smaller seats, particularly in “Coach Class”, while allowing the airline to carry more passengers, increase customer dissatisfaction due to physical discomfort of the passenger seats. Since many airlines always ask: “What are the other airlines doing?” they follow the leaders [by installing narrower seats] rather than lead the followers [with installation of wider seats]. An innovative management of an airline should realize that passenger comfort is an important goal to develop repeat customers.  Rather than trying to put “many sheep in the barn” they should attempt to provide their customers with “Coach Class Comfort Second To None”. In the long term, those airlines will prosper with both repeat customers as well as new customers who are tired of being treated like sheep at other airlines.

Russian Cooperation and Trade with Greece are Increasing

News Analysis:  The very strategic location of Greece, as well as a cultural and religious affinity between the two countries, make for a win-win situation for both. Since Greece is the first European country when coming from the Levant or Northeast Africa, its location is laudable.

The vessel shipment of hydrocarbons or bulk commodities through the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean or through the Suez Canal is quite enticing. Since Greece has historically treated its neighbors with respect, good relations abound. The aforementioned is of great importance to Greece’s long-time friend, Russia.

A Bank’s Worst Enemy May be Its Own Bankers

News Analysis:  Forensic Accounting should be an on-going process rather than an after-the-fact event. Since its goals are different than standard accounting, it may find irregularities [and those internally who propagate them], early on. Trust, But Verify.

World Bank’s Best for Business Rankings

News Analysis:  The countries which are the most “pro-Business” are those with: a low rate of taxation and few regulatory impediments. Additionally, they must maintain both a high electronic communications capability and progressive infrastructure. If so they will have the quickest return to economic normalcy from a ‘down market’. If a country has ample producible mineral resources, so much the sooner. Good governmental leadership [from “top to bottom”] assists in being the best.

Some Swiss Bankers are Not Leaving Switzerland

News Analysis:  The ancient adage: “As Ye Sow, So Ye Shall Reap” is especially applicable to those who, under the cover of ‘Bank Legitimacy’, engage in large scale tax evasion on behalf of their foreign customers. The electronic capacity of governments to watch the flow of funds from one country to another by scheming individuals, through their bankers, should have them re-think their actions. Can embarrassment, fines, and possible long-term  prison confinement, for conspiratorial bankers, ever be worth some financial gain?

Maldives State-Owned Companies Need Accounts for Audits

News Analysis: A possibility of profligate or unauthorized spending might be assumed by an accounting body where a ‘paper trail’ does not exist. In the instant case, the reluctance to provide essential data to the accountants, ensures the lack of transparency. In such an event, to ‘suspect the worse’ is not illogical when it comes to monies the companies control. Trust, but verify.

Currency Arbitrage Currently Causes Concern

News Analysis: Money managers throughout the globe attempt to ascertain not only the America’s Federal Reserve’s monetary decisions but also those choices by other Central Banks. Since many monetary decisions are made not only on a financial basis, but also a political one, the ability to properly guess rates, etc. requires an omniscience possessed by few.

If Too Expensive, Build Them Yourselves

News Analysis: Once the ‘Non-Recurring Costs’ [NRC] of establishing a shipyard have been paid for, the ‘Recurring Costs’ [RC] of labor and material, energy, etc. on an individual build should be significantly less than merely purchasing a ‘New Build’ from another Shipyard. Amortized NRC and unit RC amounts should be less than the competition’s price. Since new vessels can be built for others, ‘Learning Curve” efficiencies and bulk material buying can further reduce ship construction costs even further over extended time. If financially able, this is a good methodology for a country.
