Greece has World Renown for its excellent Kalamata Olive Oil, the “Finest of the Fine” for Bouquet, Nutrition, and Taste in Olea europaea Production. The European Union restricts naming “Kalamata” Olives to those grown around Kalamata, Greece.

It would be “Marketing Suicide” to dilute the ‘Label’ in ANY MANNER. Subsequent to any dilution would be the terrible task of educating the World to the ‘Lesser Product’ (which would reduce the Stature of Kalamata Olive Oil. A ‘Task for Sisyphus’ would be to re-gain the Prestige of Kalamata Olive Oil; no small task (once lost, never to return). A Great Reputation which took Years to develop can be Ruined by Fools in a few Days.

Greeks should spend their efforts in increased World Marketing of their “Nutritional Gold” so the people of the Globe get to enjoy the Kalamata Product as well as the Greeks have for Centuries.
