☆ Fleeced Greek “Sheep” Finally Get Angry From The “Cold”

News Analysis: For decades complacent Greeks allowed their Politicians and Civil Servants to engage in ‘Economic Treason’; this by engaging in extensive bribery on Military Contracts in particular and Public Works Projects in General. One must ask: Who in the Greek Government reported their suspicions of corruption? Which Members of the Press investigated this obvious larceny? Which Political Party condemned the thievery?  The “Then Complacent” Greeks cannot say today.

Several years of Extreme Austerity suffered by untainted  Greek Citizens is now commencing to produce a reaction to the Financial Demands of Lending European Union Banks. The Greeks want repatriation of stolen funds and incarceration of the thieves; “Klepsia Einai Timoreitai” (Thievery is Punishable) they demand.

The Ill-Gotten Gains of these Traitors must be returned. The benefits of the thievery as enjoyed by the families of the thieves should be examined and if possible returned. America had it “Bernie Madoff Family” who allegedly enjoyed for DECADES the thievery gains of Bernie yet professed total ignorance of the crimes (Naturally). The various leaders of Greece since the 1960’s will also deny culpability.

The World will be closely looking at Greece and see if the Citizens have “Wised Up” to their few  Arrogant Leaders or are they following a ‘Strouthokamilos tis Politikis” (Ostrich Policy) with their heads buried in the Sand. Kairos Tha Deixei.

Reality.

Greece Department Of Defense (DOD) Procurement Rules Upgrade: Better Late Than Never

News Analysis: The Rampant Corruption by some Greek Politicians, Civilian, and Military Personnel over the past SEVERAL DECADES might be lightly addressed in 2014. The ‘DOD’ may upgrade its Procurement Policies this year. Unfortunately, it appears the many Crooks who stole from the People are not having their Ill-Gotten Gains Confiscated or are they Headed to Prison. Citizens of other countries find the “Economic Treason” which caused many Greeks much pain to be worthy of Penal Retribution through the Greek Legal System. Apparently, the Vested Interests in Athens thinks otherwise. Could it be that Continued Corruption is afoot in Greece?

“Den xero”, a Greek might reply.

That the European Union bails out Greece is notable, but the E.U.  too should demand legal redress against the “Greek Economic Traitors” wherever they have moved.

When is comes to Behavior Modification of ‘Bribees; or Embezzlers, if there is No Pain, there is No Gain (in getting them to change their Evil Ways).

Reality.

Port Of Piraeus, Greece, Gets China’s Financial Support

News Analysis: Port Of Piraeus, Greece, Gets China’s Financial Support to develop it beyond Ship Containerization Projects. Now,  Huawei Electronics will be distributing its Products throughout Europe by way of Piraeus.  Since China pays little attention  to Press Reports of “Gloom and Doom” being circulated in the Western Press, It makes its own “Long Term Growth” Assessments of a Nation. It has done so with Greece (Hellas).

Greece is ideal for Corporations or Countries who in Business value: Location, Location, Location.

Amity Beats Enmity in Money Matters

News Analysis: Amity Beats Enmity in Money Matters Particularly on Cyprus. The Draconian Measures taken against Bank Depositors (Domestic and Foreign), at the Behest of the European Union, are having an effect of bringing Sensible Financial Actions by a few of their Victims. Some of those Greek Cypriots, living in the South, are going to the Northern part of the Island to engage Cypriot Turkish Banks; a very reasonable idea. They are finally forgetting the Rhetoric of Politicians Controlled by ‘Financial Handlers’ and instead, are thinking for themselves; “Political Rhetoric Be Damned”. Since the Turkish Banks, in their collective Wisdom, offer an International Aspect that the South does not, they are preferred as a result.

It is interesting to note that Greece, as well as its ‘Co-Signer ‘ for its Debt, Cyprus, have apparently not Arrested, Convicted, and Imprisoned ONE  Military or Political Leader. Their Personal Greed over the past several DECADES caused this infamous  Economic Debacle. Instead, their Ill-Gotten Gains are in Foreign Bank Accounts [which are allegedly known to Greek Officials].

Why the Citizens of Cyprus and Greece do not use their Legal Remedies to get their monies back from the Military and Political Criminals is perplexing. That the Military and  Politicians do not say anything about their Predecessors is obvious. Good Forensic Accounting is needed [if the Financial Records have not already been destroyed].

Of their Bankers, Military, and Political Leaders, both Greeks and Cypriots need to learn: “Trust, But Verify”. If in Doubt of their Veracity, they can then tell any of these “Men of Integrity”: “Oxi!”

Reality.

Real Estate Visas for Southern European Properties Increase in Popularity

News Analysis:  Real Estate Visas for Southern European Properties Increase in Popularity. Greece, Malta, Portugal, and Spain are currently the leaders in this ‘Real Estate Investment For A Visa’ Plan. The Idea promotes Inflows of Currency into a Country while giving Purchasers possible future Permanent Residency Status. Additional income to a Country derives from Property Taxes which the Visa Seeker must pay annually.

A Visa Seeker must employ Due Diligence in reviewing Countries of Interest beyond the Visa Plan and also into their Real Estate Laws and the like.

Let The Buyer Beware.

Greek Economy: A Caterpillar Becomes a Butterfly

News Analysis: Much as a Caterpillar devours some of itself to morph into a Butterfly, Greece did the same. The pain its citizens experienced was the worst since World War II. The underlying problem, if one studies historical events for Greece, was “The Marshall Plan”. The largesse of the program removed the incentive to self-rely [as Japan did after the War] and instead look to government for aid. This hurt Greece from the 1940’s to the present. With others doling out monies, what incentive was there for industriousness? There was rampant tax evasion by some citizens. Rather than sitting around drinking Ouzo and quoting the Philosophers of old, Greeks really needed to use their intellect and develop international level businesses. The only semblance of such an activity has been with Greek ship owners and their fleets. The hard work of: Fafalios, Goulandris, Karageorgis, Lemos, Niarchos, Onassis, and other Shipping families put the ‘Greek Stamp’ on the world.

Today, the adjustments by the Greek government are  turning the situation around in terms increased Foreign Direct Investment [by the likes of foreseeing John Alfred Paulson, and others]. Now it is up to the Greek people to forget the ‘handouts’ by the government; and instead rely on their intelligence and intrepidness for commerce to flourish in Greece.

May the wisdom of Athena be with them.

Russian Cooperation and Trade with Greece are Increasing

News Analysis:  The very strategic location of Greece, as well as a cultural and religious affinity between the two countries, make for a win-win situation for both. Since Greece is the first European country when coming from the Levant or Northeast Africa, its location is laudable.

The vessel shipment of hydrocarbons or bulk commodities through the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean or through the Suez Canal is quite enticing. Since Greece has historically treated its neighbors with respect, good relations abound. The aforementioned is of great importance to Greece’s long-time friend, Russia.

“Poor” Greeks Spend Billions in Ships in 2013

News Analysis: One should examine critically the mass media when its reports are unidirectional about any particular subject. Quite often contrary data is disregarded in order that a “Tsunami of Catastrophe” is maintained for the gains of certain individuals who stand to profit from the entropy. In this instance, billions of dollars have been spent by Greeks who the mass media portray as destitute, in the main. There is seldom any mention of ‘wealthy Greeks’.
