News Analysis: Encryption: An Investment Bubble At Which Decrypters Laugh since those who work at the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) know its Super-Computers can break ANY CODES they choose to examine. With a budget of $11+/- Billion Dollars a Year the ‘NSA’ can use its ‘Heft’ which dwarfs the “mediocre’ yearly private investment funds of “Silicon Valley” Encryption firms; in terms of Hardware, Personnel, and Software. Beyond that, the U.S. Government can pass Legislation (suggested by the ‘NSA’) to make it even easier for it to decode transmissions.
In Silicon Valley, for example, “To Sell The Product of Encryption to the Unwitting, Sell The Sizzle”, is the Manufacturers’ Marketing Mandate some people say. To illustrate: A truly laughable comment is “…the wider use of encryption (is) “inevitable, because there’s no other way to solve the problem.” ‘Myopic Thinking’ some would declare for the last seven words display effete thought about solutions.
